Meet The Artist

My name is Rachel Sharn, and I want to thank you for stepping into this little corner of my world.

I am a self-taught artist who grew up deeply inspired by the world around me. I was fortunate to be surrounded by family and friends who made art for a living — or simply lived creatively — and that influence shaped the way I see and interpret everyday life. I work in a variety of mediums, though in recent years I have focused primarily on acrylic painting. I also work with gouache, pencil, ink, and digital media.

I graduated with my Bachelor of Science from Colorado State University in 2018. From 2019 to 2020, I lived in rural Peru for nearly two years, volunteering and learning through culture, stories, and friendships that deeply impacted my perspective on beauty, resilience, and faith.

After returning to the United States, I spent four years working on a cow-calf operation, where my love for western life and livestock deepened. Most recently, I worked as an equine veterinary assistant, an experience that gave me a greater understanding of equine anatomy, physiology, and movement. That knowledge continues to shape the accuracy and intentionality I bring to each horse I paint.

Art has remained a steady thread through every season of my life — something both grounding and healing. What began as a personal refuge has steadily grown into a calling. I am currently transitioning into full-time work as an artist and am deeply grateful for the opportunity to pursue the gifts God has given me. I look forward to continuing to grow in both skill and purpose as I build this next chapter.

My hope is that my work captures the quiet strength and honest beauty found in western life — and that it offers you a small glimpse into someone’s story, perhaps even your own.
